It is a matter of immense pride and honour for me to have been entrusted with the leadership of one of the nation’s finest paramilitary forces—the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The indomitable courage, discipline and supreme sacrifice of our Himveers form the strong foundation of the nation’s security, sovereignty and pride.

At the outset, I pay my humble tribute to all brave Himveers who laid down their lives in defence of the Motherland. Their unmatched valour, supreme sacrifice and steadfast devotion to duty shall continue to inspire us always.

It is well known that the ITBP plays a leading role in safeguarding the India–China border, from the Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh. Deployed in extremely challenging and inhospitable conditions, our Himveers vigilantly protect the nation’s frontiers with courage, dedication and professional excellence. Alongside this, the Force is also discharging diverse internal security responsibilities and contributing with full commitment to operations against Left Wing Extremism in Chhattisgarh.

My resolve is to further strengthen the operational capabilities of the Force by equipping the ITBP with modern equipment, advanced technologies and effective training. Our real strength lies not merely in resources, but in our unity, discipline, commitment and mutual trust. Assisting citizens during natural disasters and emergencies has always been a proud tradition of the ITBP, which we shall continue to strengthen.

At the same time, the welfare of our Himveers and their families remains our highest priority. Welfare initiatives will be further reinforced, with focused attention on training, healthcare, housing, and essential facilities, enabling you to perform your duties with high morale and confidence.

I am confident that through unity and dedication, the ITBP will continue to attain new heights of excellence, success and honour.
